After devouring the third season of Emily in Paris, fans are already waiting for the next one, whose release remains unknown for now. The adventures of Emily Cooper (played by actress Lily Collins) have clearly charmed the whole world! And we wanted to identify all the pieces of jewellery featured in this season, of course!
In May 2021, Netflix announced that the first season had been watched by 58 million viewers worldwide. In the UK, it even made the top 10 for forty consecutive weeks! Although results are mixed in France, Darren Star's (Melrose Place, Sex and the City or Younger) latest creation still remains the show that we love to hate the most. We criticise its cliché and idealized vision of the capital!
But as we Frenchies are full of contradictions, we jumped on the 3rd season as soon as it aired on December 21st.
How could we resist the character of Emily Cooper, her thick accent, her soppy side, and her sparkly wardrobe? While waiting to find out if our American heroine will end up with the handsome Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), fans decipher, analyse and deconstruct her looks, each one crazier than the next! Emily's colourful wardrobe inspires fashionistas.
This phenomenon has of course caught the attention of brands that graciously supply the series' stylists - Patricia Field, Florence Clamond and Marylin Fitoussi - with the hope of appearing on screen! The influence is so great that ViacomCBS and Netflix are offering a dedicated collection on the service's online shop. The website
Another charming asset? The cast! Lily Collins, but also Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Camille Razat (Camille), Lucien Laviscount (Alfie), Ashley Park (Mindy)... and of course Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu who plays Sylvie Grateau, the director of Savoir - a free-spirited, slightly surly Parisian woman in her fifties with a tumultuous love life. Our French actress, who will turn 60 in the spring, is so successful that she's on the front page of every magazine.
But what makes Emily Cooper's wardrobe so dreamy? Completely at odds with Parisian elegance, she breaks all codes of good taste, mixing colours, patterns and styles... And finally becomes a universal source of inspiration, injecting joie de vivre into a sad world. Another gimmick from Emily? Attention to detail. Nothing is left to chance, and certainly not the accessories! In contrast, her boss Sylvie embodies a certain idea of French chic, combining elegance, purity and sensuality. Each in their own way, the two protagonists refine their style with carefully selected jewellery - rather understated for Emily and eye-catching for Sylvie. The extravagant Mindy (Ashley Park) has the same attitude and goes overboard with statement earrings and oversized necklaces.
From the previous seasons, we particularly remember the Pretty Woman Audacious Necklace, worn by Lily in season 2. This Fred necklace with a heart motif was inspired by a scene from the rom-com Pretty Woman.
But what about season 3? Dinh Van, Marie-Hélène de Taillac, Messika and TASAKI are among the lucky ones chosen by stylists to assert the personality of the female characters in the show.
The whole world thinks that French girls are all super stylish a la Emily In Paris. French women will certainly opt for the most iconic piece of jewellery, which remains Emily's initial necklace, signed by French brand Vanrycke.
Let's take a walk through Emily in Paris's flawless jewellery box, with iconic pieces and true gems that make all the difference.
Pearls are trendy! Emily wears the balance era ring from Japanese brand
Also during her romantic lunch with Gabriel, in the gourmet restaurant set in Provence, in the idyllic Bastide in Gordes, Emily also adorns her neck with a pearl necklace revisited by German brand Yana Nesper.
Emily is glowing as she greets guests in a heavenly setting in the vineyards of Provence with a Giuseppe Di Morabito purple dress and the rose gold and diamond double choker necklace by British designer Nadine Aysoy, who launched her eponymous brand in 2017 with great success. Emily is also wearing matching earrings.
On several occasions, Emily dips into the collections of the French brand, founded in 1965 by jeweller Jean Dinh Van, who passed away in July 2022. In episode 2, Emily wears the large Pulse ring made of white gold and diamonds, large Le Cube Diamant hoop earrings made of white gold and diamonds, and the Menottes Dinh Van R12 ring made of white gold and diamonds. In episode 3, at her friend Mindy's show, she combines the large Pulse ring made of white gold and diamonds with the medium Pulse ring made of white gold, along with the Pulse bracelet made of white gold and diamonds. In episodes 5, 6 and 7, she opts for yellow gold with the
Finally, at the Pierre Cadault show, Emily wore a sublime Balmain dress. To complete the look, she chose the Menottes Dinh Van R12 ring made of white gold and diamonds, the large Pulse ring made of white gold and diamonds, and the Maillon L earrings made of white gold and diamonds.
While she wears several delicate pieces of jewellery from the French brand Vanrycke, the one that will be remembered is her initial necklace - just like the name necklace of a certain Carrie Bradshaw before her, which she brought out in the Sex and the City sequel, And Just Like That.
Emily couldn't miss out on the inimitable style of French brand Messika. The heroine, a Parisian by adoption, wears the Lucky Move necklace made of rose gold and natural diamonds and the Glam'Azone Double Pavé ring made of white gold and diamonds.
Lastly, the only small downside is that from the first episode, Emily wears the gold Ginkgo ring which she never takes off. She also plays with the pendant and the 'dormeuses' from the same collection. Ginkgo is built around three gold leaves that unfold into a corolla to give life to a flower which, in its centre, lights up with diamonds held in place by a five-clawed chalice. The downside is that these are
With a more refined but also sexier style, Sylvie Grateau - wonderfully played by Philippine Beaulieu-Leroy - relies, on several occasions, on the organic lines of Danish family firm Ole Lynggaard, founded in Copenhagen in 1963. She wears the Snake ring, made of yellow gold, with a central tourmaline but also a version with a blush moonstone. One on each hand!
Emily in Paris's boss Sylvie Grateau is also tempted by the colourful world of Marie-Hélène de Taillac's coloured stones as she wears the Princess and Swivel rings, as well as the Psychedelic and Gabrielle D'Estrées earrings and the Angel necklace. The most desirable piece? The Dancing Sequins long necklace created in 2001 by the designer, enriched with gold sequins of different sizes.
Lastly, to complete her unique style and assert her strong personality, Sylvie Grateau sees double. She chose to wear not one, but two Bone cuffs designed by Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co. One for each wrist! The epitome of chic!
So, when it comes to jewellery, do you tend to go for understated and refined like Emily? Or do you use jewellery to get noticed, like Sylvie? Whichever side you're on, you're all set to shine bright at parties with your expert knowledge of the show!
