At the occasion of the January Haute Couture week in Paris, certain Houses present their new collections. Headlights on this week’s classical yet contemporary show.
The Maison Chaumet goes back to classics with the 4 precious and fine pearls for secure values: sapphires, diamonds, rubies, emeralds. A great contrast compared to their collection Trésors d’Afrique from this summer, but what exquisite beauty with such incredible stones. A return to the classics from the Art Deco period. We loved its simplicity, efficiency and the beauty of the stones, particularly the yellow diamonds.
The Maison David Morris presented pieces at the same time classical but also very contemporary, very original because easy to wear like this pair of earrings in Australian black opals set in titanium heightened by splendid Paraiba tourmalines.
We also loved the rose cut diamonds on the chandelier earrings, the delicacy of the setting, the ease of wearing combined with a modern flair often heightened by center stones, fine gems with an investment quality.
Chanel revisited the camellia and it’s transformability: 23 pieces of which several transformable. Diamonds, rubelite (tourmaline) and ruby for these simple yet chic sets that can be worn in multiple ways like the dancer Alice Renavand who was taken in by their versatile fun.
De Grisogono revisited their classics with modernity and provided a new collection with generous curves; we love these high jewelry pieces that are always extraordinary.
Finally Harry Winston takes us back to our childhood with their new cocktail ring collection inspired from their 1960s archives, high in color and yummy. Fine gems invite themselves at Harry Winston, who do not hesitate to revisit their classic and in quite a surprising manner! We loved the color associations for these candy-like rings. Spotlight on savory cocktail rings this summer!
New stone setting techniques for Chopard who presented their collection Magic. A new technique that makes the crafting of these jewels very contemporary with very apparent prong settings. This new technique illuminates the stones from the side, giving a contemporary insight on high jewelry and a magical scope.
Boucheron came out with a new collection by the name of Jack and Parisian Ivy which is ultra light in pink gold and diamonds, super easy to wear and has already adorned certain celebrities on the red carpet of Cannes. We also adore the small animals iconic of the Maison such as the hedgehog or bambi!
The new collection: Jack is most certainly for music aficionados! The pieces are very simple to wear, in full gold or with diamonds that can be cumulated around the wrist of complied around the neck to create endless sautoir necklaces! We absolutely love!
Suzanne Syz and her incredible capacity of renewing herself presented surprising earrings always with a hint of humor and delicacy. Rocket ships inspired by her collaboration with the artist Sylvie Fleury are very light due to the use aluminum.
There is also a pair of more classical earrings; Faucet showing hot and cold and a pair of earrings in Akoya pearls with diamonds that are at the same time majestic and aerial.
I’ve always had a soft spot for her earrings “The Show Must Go On”!
We really enjoyed the launch of her new collection SYZ FIREWORKS that you can discover on Instagram and discover even more Suzanne Syz jewelry to shop for!
Lydia Courteille presented her new collection: The Dark Side of Marie Antoinette with an astonishing cuff bracelet heightened by a 300 carats aqua-marine!
Last but certainly not least, Piaget revealed it’s second chapter of their collection Sunset Light under the glow of the “sunny side of life” with Arts & Crafts jewels and many colorful fine and ornamental stones. A jeweled set composed of a cuff bracelet and earrings using the wood marquetry skills of the artist Rose Saneuil using wood and gold. We were astonished by the striking yet natural result.
This jeweled set in Australian black opals and sapphires required incredible amounts of gold smithing work, giving the impression of a frosted feel. Magnificent!
This season we can really feel a back to basics. We really appreciate the simplicity and the beauty of the stones for which their quality really varied from one Maison to the next.
We are already waiting impatiently for the next collections that will be presented beginning of July in Paris during the next High Jewelry Week!
