The talented designer has worked for prestigious brands such as Bulgari or Chaumet for which she created unique and iconic pieces. The smart and dynamic Florentine was chosen as a junior designer by Paolo Bulgari himself. In Italy still, she worked for fashion at Gucci under the direction of Frida Giannini and also at Salvatore Ferragamo before joining the Maison Chaumet in 2007 to create fabulous iconic creations.
Based in Lausanne since 2011, this lover of gemstones and jewellery artcraft – mum as well as jeweller – creates unique and tailor-made pieces for individuals worldwide.
She has recently launched a strong and spicy collection sweetly named PIMPINELLA (in reference to the anise flower).
"I wanted to mix my Italian roots with the sophistication and precision of Parisian jewellery"
A mother-of-pearl marquetry of unique Italian know-how adorned with a precious stone in its center, in rose gold or yellow gold. Detail, comfort and an elegance unrivaled. To be different and make a difference.
Indeed, Olga Corsini appeals to arts and crafts and explores the technique of the « notch » inspired by the Florentine tradition of marble marquetry called “SCAGLIOLA” in Italian. This marquetry technique consists of a meticulous manual reworking of the motifs – 5 heart-shaped mother-of-pearl petals – and a perfectly adjusted setting that confers a single level on the flower. The motif is also recalled on the reverse side of the jewel, which gives it both a pure and a very modern look.
Olga Corsini chooses spices as a theme of creation, as an allusion to the medieval period, which saw the emergence of the first “Arts and Crafts” guilds in Florence, her home town. At the time, the corporation of Herb and Spice Merchants collaborated with that of the goldsmiths and painters, or of the silk merchants. Indeed, the common interest was that of the treasures from the East, the famous Spice Routes! Spices were then very valuable ingredients, like precious stones and gold. And this is still the case today: 1 gram of saffron is more expensive than 1 gram of gold! If spices are as valuable as jewellery, then why not combine them? Great idea!
Olga Corsini also associates spices with women, not only are they precious but they represent taste, life, they bring life, they bring difference and diversity in every day. What better inspiration could there be?
Olga started with ANISE – Pimpinella, Latin scientific name: Pimpinella Anisum because it represents for her a very strong childhood memory and a tribute to the mother because of the shape of the flower. The Anise plant is widely cultivated in the Tuscan hills where it flowers, giving birth to many small white flowers emanating from a single stem.
“I still remember the amazement I felt in front of these fields of small white ” dots ” during the summer months of my childhood”
For her next collections, Olga Corsini wishes to pay tribute to other women so that each one can connect with her creations. She is currently working on her next lines: PEPE (pepper) and CORIANDOLO (coriander), then LIQUIRIZIA (liquorice)… To put it in a nutshell… we can’t wait to discover them!
What about you, what sort of woman are you? What is your flavour?
A jewellery gift for a birthday, a birth, an important moment of life or just to treat yourself… I’m fond of the rose gold, the perfect finish of her creations and the sense of detail.
I’m also fond of Olga, a beautiful person with a brilliant smile, her energy radiates as brightly as her PIMPINELLA creations! Your attention please, Olga Corsini is a talent to follow!
