Spotlight on High Jewelry

At the occasion of the January Haute Couture week in Paris, certain Houses present their new collections. Headlights on this week’s classical yet contemporary show. The Maison Chaumet goes back to classics with the 4 precious and fine pearls for secure values: sapphires, diamonds, rubies, emeralds. A great contrast compared to their collection Trésors d’Afrique from this summer, but what exquisite beauty with such incredible stones. A return to the classics from the Art Deco period. We loved its simplicity, efficiency and the beauty of the stones, particularly the yellow diamonds. Palm Sensation transformable necklace by Piaget – Sunny side of life ©BérengèreTreussard 2016 Green Couture Week: a high jewellery week charged in emeralds… This year once more, we were amazed by the High Jewellery presentation week which took place early July, because of the jewels presented and because of the places where the presentations were held. The Place Vendôme not only was covered with a field of wheat for the occasion, it was remarkably beautiful with a profusion of emeralds of all origins. A desire to return to the nature and beauty of the green source of life. Couture week: High jewellery

This week was Paris Couture Week. Yet only a few jewellery houses presented their high jewellery collection, preferring to wait until the July session, or further still for the Bienniale des Antiquaire due in September… For those who did have a showcase, there were two great trends: colourful and innovative for a Spring mood, and timeless diamonds. The Maison Chopard was titanizing and colourful, this is the second time that the house ventures into the experience of titanium and I have to admit it’s rather successful because the choice of gems and the colour palette is bold and bright. These jewels are intended for innovative women and ready to challenge all the codes to free themselves from the constraints, weight for example, since titanium has the advantage of being extremely light. Meeeting with de GRISOGONO

Diamond and emerald high jewellery necklace – de GRISOGONO ©NicolasMingalon for Like a B For this ninth « Encounter » I chose the Maison de GRISOGONO. Synonymous with partying, jet-set and glitter, the Maison – just like its founder Fawaz Gruosi – has known how to appeal to the world’s happy few, for the last two decades. Through this photo I wished to express a festive mood which appeared to me as an obvious choice. Such as this Maison, independant and daring, free from established conventions. Desire for lightness and bubbles with this sumptuous necklace, all about shapes and curls, finely set in subtle shades of diamonds and emeralds. I tried it on ! A true halo of light and lightness to dress up any woman… wether she already has clothes on… or not! For a party where anything can happe...
